I play It on an acoustic frettless bass guitar, and it sounds perfect. The first note (10/\) is played like that through the whole song. It's about a 1/4 (or 1/2 live) vibrato. 19 times 7 times |--------------------|-5/11----||-----------------5/11-----| |*------------------*|------9--||*---------------------9--*| |*-10/\----10-11-10-*|---------||*-10---10-11-10----------*| |--------------------|---------||--------------------------| 15 times |--------------|---------||----------------||-5/11----|| |--------------|-| 1/2 |-||*--------------*||------9--|| |-10--10-11-10-|---------||*-10--10-11-10-*||---------|| |--------------|---------||----------------||---------|| 7 times 31 times |---------------|-5/11-----|--------------|----------------| |*--------------|------9--*|--------------|*--------------*| |*-10--10-11-10-|---------*|-10--10-11-10-|*-10--10-11-10-*| |---------------|----------|--------------|----------------| 7 times 29 times |-5/11----||----------------5/11----||---------||----------------| |------9--||*--------------------9-*||-| 1/2 |-||*--------------*| |---------||*-10--10-11-10---------*||---------||*-10--10-11-10-*| |---------||------------------------||---------||----------------| 7 times |-5/11----|----------------5/11----|--------------|| |------9--|*--------------------9-*|--------------|| |---------|*-10--10-11-10---------*|-10--10-11-10-|| |---------|------------------------|--------------|| __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- "The Toys Go Winding Down" from "Frizzle Fry" __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- Tabed by Christopher Preston Intro: |----------------10-10-10-11-11-11---------------------------------| |--8-8-8--8-8-8--------------------8-8-8--8-8-8--11-11-11-10-10-10-| |------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------------------------------------------------------------| Interlude + Humpty Dumpty: |-9-12-9-12-9-12------------| |-7-10-7-10-7-10-7-8h-7h-8h-| |---------------------------| |---------------------------| __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- "Thieves" from the bootleg "You Can't Party Without Me" __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- Christopher Preston I don't know if Les plays this often but it was on this, so I tabbed it. |-----------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------| |--------------------5--------------------| |-00000000000000-0---3--00000000000000-0--| __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- "Those Damn Blue Collared Tweekers" from "Sailing The Seas Of Cheese" __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by Christopher Preston The bass intro/verse riff uses a very muted F#, which can be achieved by either palm muting, but it looks like just not pressing the string all the way to the fretboard. For The Hammer-On 16-17 part of the solo, playing live, Les plucks every 16, instead of letting them all ring. The E's vibration at the end of the bass solo is the work of Les's Whammy Bar, but can be [almost] duplicated by detuning the E string, then tuning back up. (Be carefull, you still have to hit the E for the chorus and the verse! be sure to tune up after if you chose to do that) Guitar Intro: |-------| |-| 6 |-| |-------| |-------| Bass Intro/Verse: 40 times |------| |------| |------| |-0--2-| Chorus: |--2-4--------------|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-2-4-------------*|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-----------------*|---------------------|--------------| |------0-000-000-0--|---------------------|-0-000-000-0--| Verse: 24 times |------| |------| |------| |-0--2-| Chorus: |--2-4--------------|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-2-4-------------*|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-----------------*|---------------------|--------------| |------0-000-000-0--|---------------------|-0-000-000-0--| Solo + Verse 40 times |------| |------| |------| |-0--2-| Chorus: |--2-4--------------|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-2-4-------------*|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-----------------*|---------------------|--------------| |------0-000-000-0--|---------------------|-0-000-000-0--| Bass Solo: |--------------------------------------------------------| |-16-16-16--16-16-16--16-16-16--16-----------------------| |--------------------------------------------------------| |--------------------------------------------------------| |--------------------------------------------------------| |-16-16-16--16-16-16--15-15-15--14-----------------------| |--------------------------------------------------------| |--------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------16-17h--16h-17h--16h-17h--16h-17h--16h-17h-| |-16-16-15-14-14---------------------------------------------| |------------------------------------------------------------| |------------------------------------------------------------| |-17-17-14--------------------------------| |-----------15-14-------14----------14----| |-----------------15-14----15-14-15----15-| |-----------------------------------------| |---------------------------------|----------------------| |-X-X-14-----------14-------14----|-14-14----14-------14-| |--------15--14-15----15-14----15-|-------15----15-14----| |---------------------------------|----------------------| |-11-14-11-14-16-17-17-14----14-| |-------------------------16----| |-------------------------------| |-------------------------------| |-------19-16----16-------------------------| |-16-19-------17----17-16----16-------------| |-------------------------17----12-15-12-15-| |-------------------------------------------| |-16-16-12---------------|------------------| |----------15-15--12-----|------------------| |--------------------12--|------------------| |------------------------|-O/\/\/\/\/\/\/\--| Verse: X times |------| |------| |------| |-0--2-| Chorus: |--2-4--------------|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-2-4-------------*|-2-4-2-6-4-2-4-2-0-4-|--------------| |*-----------------*|---------------------|--------------| |------0-000-000-0--|---------------------|-0-000-000-0--| __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- "Tippi Toes" from "Miscellaneous Debris" __________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------- Tabed by Christopher Preston Les definately uses a fretless, but I don't know if it's his 6 string or a new 4 sring.
