Santeria - Sublime sur
SANTERIA by Sublime Transcribed by Jeremy Roswell ( I got sick of asking for the tab so I bought the CD and here's my rendition of Sublime's "Santeria". The lyrics in the CD insert are slightly different from what Bradley actually sings so I changed them below to get as close as I could to the actual words sung. All the chords should be barred. The E on the 7th fret, the Ab on the 4th, the Dbm also on the 4th and the B on either the 2nd or more conveniently the 7th. The chords in the song might all be power chords, I'm not really sure. I put the chords along with the first verse and chorus so you could get the idea. Each chord is strummed and muted four times in the verses. The chorus riff I have included below is not exactly accurate as is my intro but they are pretty close. I'll try and get the solo later but I'm not sure I can do it with my acoustic. Intro: E Ab e-------------------- e---------------- b-------------------- b---4------------ g-----9-------9-9---- g-----5---------- d---9---9---------9-- d-------6-------- a-7-------7-7-------7 a-----------6-2-4 e-------------------- e-4-------4------ Dbm B e-------------------- e---2------------ b-----------5-------- b-----4---------- g-----6-------6------ g-------4-------- d---6---6-------6---- d---------------- a-4-------4---------- a-2-------2------ e-------------------- e---------------- E, Ab, Dbm, B Verse 1: E Ab I don't practice santeria I ain't got no crystal ball Dbm B I had a million dollars but I'd, I'd spend it all E Ab If I could find that Heina and that Sancho she's found Dbm B Well I'd pop a cap in Sancho and I'd slap her down Chorus: A B E Dbm All I really wanna know my baby A B E Dbm A All I really wanna say I can't define B E Dbm It's love that I need A B But my soul will have to Verse 2: E Wait 'till I get back, find a Heina of my own Daddy's gonna love one and all I feel the break, feel the break, feel the break And I gotta live it up Oh yeah, uh huh, well I swear that I Chorus: All I really wanna know my baby All I really wanna say I can't define That love will make it go My soul will have to... Oh, well, I think I did a damn good job on it, but you don't have to. Toy with it some and try to make it sound better. The intro was all I got, but it was worth it anyway. Have fun... ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ---9-------9---------5-----5--- --9--9----9-9----------6---6-6- 7-----7-7----7------6---6--6-6- -------------(7\4)4-----(4)4--- ------------------------------------| -------5---5-4(3)----------7--------| -----------6-4(3)6/7(\6)--6--6------| (6)---6--6-------4/5(\4)4------4----| 66p44-----4-------------------------| ------------------------------------| ..let the last note ring until the verse breaks in with abunch of chords and such. -Poodgie From Thu May 8 14:15:29 1997 ^’Sublime ^’Santeria ^’transcribed & written by chris adkins ( ^’the last guy who tabbed this didnt get all of it, but he did get some parts. he tried. they have programs for that, i think. anyway, i got most of the solo here and other ^”revisions^‘ , but if you have the audacity to complain about my work, you can flame me at on with tha^“ tab. ^’this is obviously a 2- guitar song, but if you have just yourself, than start w/ g1, play g2 during the verse and then switch back for the solo and choruses. for the choruses, you might want to try to throw in some extra bass notes (by playing the roots of the chord shape used for the riff) for a fuller sound if you only have one guitarist. if you are playing w/ a bassist, don^“t bother... ^’std tuning ^’intro- guitar 1- clean elec.- let ring throughout |----------------------------------------------| |-----------------------------4----------------| |----9--------9----(9)\---------5-----5--------| |--9---9-----9--9-9(9)\-----------6-----6-6----| |7-------7-7--------7-\-----6-------6-------4--| |-------------------------4--------------------| E5 Ab |---------------------------------------------| |----------5-------(5)/--------7--------------| |----6-------6---6-(6)/----------8-----8------| |--6---6-------6----6-/------------9-----9-9--| |4------------------4-/------9-------9--------| |--------------------------7------------------| Dbm B ^’verse- guitar 2- clean elec. hits whole chord on each beat and unfret left hand immediately producing a quarter-note staccato (choppy) rhythm. It is very close to the actual solo but I know there are a few mistakes. The main problem I had was trying to figure out the downward and upward scales that Bradley plays really fast. I wrote them out as best as I could but I know they're missing several notes. I have found that just sliding down the strings sounds good but I don't think this is how it's really played. e------------------------------------------------------------------------- b------------------------------------------------------------------------- g-------------------9--b11--11--9--8--8-6-b8----6--6-6-4------------------ d-------------9-h11--------------------------------------6-4-2------------ a--7----9-h11--------------------------------------------------4-2-------- e------------------------------------------------------------------------- e-----------------7--9-7-----------------------------9-7----9-7----------- b------------------------9-7----------------------b9-----b9-----9-7------- g------------4-6-------------9-6---------5---5---------------------------- d------2-4-6---------------------9-6---6---6------------------------------ a--2-4-------------------------------9------------------------------------ e------------------------------------------------------------------------- After this is just leads back into the chorus.
